This early 2017 summer trip will start in Venice where we arrive after a direct flight from Newark. We have the option to arrive a day early (or stay a day longer) and relax touring the canals and enjoying a quiet dinner in Venice. We will take the express bus 2 hours north from Venice to Cortina where our hiking adventure begins. We spend the week trekking in some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable in the high mountains of the Dolomites. This trip is rated moderately strenuous and is for experienced hikers.

The Val Badia is one of the Ladin valleys located in the South Tyrol area of the Dolomites, an area famed for its alpine beauty and idyllic position at the foot of the Dolomites. This German-speaking part of Italy boasts exceptional cuisine, a rich variety of wildlife, flora and fauna. Leave your worries behind as you walk to the gentle sound of birds singing through the mesmerising beauty of the Dolomites.

Staying in the picture postcard village of La Valle-Wengen for six nights along with a night in a traditional mountain hut, allows you to enjoy the very best mountain walking that this area of the Dolomites has to offer.
